We're looking for a Finance Business Partner to join a high-performing finance team within a leading large business with fantastic offices in central Bristol. This finance team shapes decisions and doesn't just report them so this is a role for someone who enjoys getting beyond the numbers - understanding what drives performance, challenging thinking, and turning financial insight into decisions that genuinely change the direction of decisions. You won't be sitting on the sidelines waiting for month-end. You'll work directly with senior commercial and operational leaders, helping them understand where the business is going, what is driving it, and what should be done next. You'll have a top 10 accounting background and a keen interest to break into finance business partnering utilising your excellent communication skills that allow you to become a trusted financial adviser to key business areas, owning the relationship with senior stakeholders and bringing commercial insight to everything from strategic planning and investment decisions to performance improvement and forecasting.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with senior leaders to drive performance, profitability and sustainable growth.
- Turning complex financial data into clear, compelling commercial insight.
- Challenging assumptions and asking the questions others might not.
- Identifying risks, opportunities and the financial consequences of strategic decisions.
- Building business cases for major investments and transformation programmes.
- Improving the quality, visibility and usability of management information.
- Supporting monthly performance reviews - moving the conversation from "what happened?" to "what do we do about it?"
This isn't a finance role where success is measured by how quickly you can produce the numbers. We're looking for someone who is naturally curious about the business behind the numbers. Someone who can walk into a room with a senior stakeholder, spot the story hidden inside a set of figures, and confidently say: "Here's what I think is happening. Here's why. And here's what I think we should do."
You'll be exposed to senior decision-makers, commercially significant projects and a broad range of challenges - giving you the platform to accelerate your career. You'll be joining a finance function that takes development seriously and have access to senior leaders, exposure to strategic projects and the opportunity to build experience across a complex FTSE 100 environment. Whether your ambition is to become a finance leader, move into commercial leadership, or develop into a broader strategic role, this position is designed to give you the experience and visibility to take that next step, and yes - Bristol is a pretty good place to do it.
If you're an ambitious finance professional who wants to move beyond reporting the numbers and start influencing what happens next, we'd love to hear from you. Bring us your commercial brain, your curiosity and your willingness to challenge. The role will give you the scale, exposure and opportunity to make an impact.
