Artis is supporting our client to identify an experienced Internal Communications Manager to join a sizeable, complex organisation at an exciting time of change and development. This is a hybrid role. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the business rather than simply producing communications from the sidelines. You'll work with senior leaders and teams across the organisation, helping them communicate clearly with their people and ensuring colleagues understand what is changing, why it matters and what it means for them. It's a varied, hands-on role where you'll have the freedom to shape communications, influence stakeholders and turn complicated subjects into messages that people actually want to read.
The Role
You'll take responsibility for internal communications across a defined area of the organisation, working closely with leadership teams and communications colleagues to plan and deliver activity. Your responsibilities will include:
- Building strong relationships with senior leaders and becoming a trusted adviser on how and when they communicate with their teams
- Creating internal communication plans and campaigns around key business priorities, initiatives and organisational change
- Taking complex or technical information and turning it into clear, engaging and accessible communications
- Developing compelling stories and narratives that help employees understand the bigger picture and how their work contributes
- Creating content across a range of internal channels and adapting your approach for different audiences
- Supporting communications around organisational change, sensitive issues and periods of significant business activity
- Working collaboratively with HR, Communications and other teams to make sure messages are coordinated and consistent
- Helping colleagues within the communications team develop their skills and deliver consistently high-quality work
- Using employee feedback, engagement data and channel insight to understand what is working and continually improve communications
- Managing multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high standard of delivery
About You
We're interested in speaking with experienced internal communications professionals who are comfortable operating within a large or complex organisation. You'll probably have:
- Strong internal communications experience, ideally gained within a sizeable or multi-site business
- Experience developing and delivering communications plans rather than purely creating content
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to make complicated subjects simple and engaging
- Confidence working directly with senior stakeholders and challenging or advising them when appropriate
- Experience communicating business transformation, organisational change or other sensitive topics
- A good understanding of internal communication channels and how to use them effectively
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Experience supporting, coaching or developing other communications professionals
- A practical, collaborative style and the judgement to know what will resonate with different audiences
Why Consider It?
This isn't a role where you'll simply be handed content to distribute. You'll be close to senior stakeholders, involved in important business conversations and trusted to shape how key messages are communicated across the organisation. For someone who enjoys combining stakeholder management, storytelling, change communications and hands-on delivery, it offers the chance to make a genuine impact on how employees understand and engage with the organisation.
