Are you a motivated finance professional with a passion for driving operational efficiency? We are seeking a Finance Business Partner - Operations to join a successful business based in Cardiff. This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant with a cost accounting background to make a real impact within a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation.

In this key role, you will work closely with the Operations, Engineering, and Design teams to support cost-effective manufacturing and project delivery. You will take ownership of inventory and fixed asset reporting, conduct manufacturing cost analysis, and play a pivotal role in supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate accounting for inventory, including stock counts and variance analysis
  • Analyse and report on manufacturing costs, identifying key variances
  • Support internal and external audits, particularly in relation to inventory and direct costs
  • Assist with period-end close and contribute to the production of timely management accounts
  • Evaluate and report on financial performance and operational efficiency
  • Provide financial insight to R&D and project teams during new product implementation
  • Manage all aspects of fixed asset control and customer shipment invoicing
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operations
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to resolve financial queries and inform business decisions
About YouQualifications & Experience
  • Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a finance-related role
  • Background in cost accounting and standard costing methodologies
Skills & Attributes
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing or operational environment
