Artis HR are delighted to be recruiting for a Head of HR to join a fast-paced and unique organisation in Bristol. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take the lead on HR with admin support, focusing on improving culture, driving performance, and getting solid processes in place. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building things from the ground up and wants to have real influence.
The Role
- You’ll be responsible for leading the HR function and supporting the wider business with all things people-related.
- This role needs someone confident working with autonomy who can balance both strategic and operational HR.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a clear HR plan aligned to business goals
- Put structure in place across HR processes, policies, and KPIs
- Lead recruitment and support hiring across the business
- Drive performance, development, and engagement
- Review and improve reward and recognition
- Handle employee relations and support managers
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business
- Support a positive, high-performing culture
- Ensure HR is compliant with UK employment law
About You
- CIPD Level 7 or equivalent
- Experience in a senior HR role, ideally standalone or leading a small team
- Strong ER, performance, and generalist HR experience
- Comfortable in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment
- Resilient and confident dealing with different personalities
- Able to influence and build trust without a heavy-handed approach
- Experience setting up or improving HR functions would be a big plus
Package
- Salary of £55,000
- Discretionary bonus, usually around 10%
- 25 days holiday with increases over time
- 5% employer pension
- Life assurance at 3x salary
- Other benefits to be confirmed

- This role is mainly on-site, so you’ll need to be within a commutable distance of Bristol and able to drive
