IT Manager required by market leading, award winning, professional services organisation based in Salisbury. The IT Manager will lead the day-to-day delivery of IT services and systems across the business. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys balancing operational responsibility with technical involvement, while managing and developing a small IT support team.
The Role
Reporting into the IT Director, the IT Manager will play a key role in ensuring IT systems are secure, reliable, and aligned to business needs. The position combines technical oversight, team leadership, and continuous improvement across the technology environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the daily operation of IT systems and services
- Supporting and resolving 1st-3rd line technical issues, including escalations
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a small IT support team
- Managing relationships with external IT suppliers and partners
- Driving improvements to system performance, reliability, and user experience
- Supporting cloud-based initiatives, particularly within Microsoft environments
- Contributing to cyber security, risk management, and business continuity planning
- Assisting with system upgrades, implementations, and ongoing IT projects
This is a hands-on, operational role requiring a visible presence within the business and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
About You
- Proven experience in an IT support or infrastructure-focused role, with team leadership responsibility
- Strong technical expertise across Microsoft technologies (e.g. Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Intune)
- Experience working in hybrid/cloud environments
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and IT best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders
- Experience managing third-party suppliers or MSPs
Working Pattern
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (35-hour week)
- Fully onsite in Salisbury (5 days per week)
- Occasional travel to a secondary UK office may be required
- Some out-of-hours work for upgrades or critical support
