Labourers Required for immediate start - Hoo, Rochester. We are looking for reliable and hardworking labourers to work in our precast stone yard in Hoo, Rochester.
The Company
We manufacture and supply a wide range of precast and artificial stone units for restoration projects using reconstituted stone dust and limestone chippings mixed with cements, dyes and sands - the majority of our work involves the restoration of high profile buildings in London. We are a small, extremely hard working team and we take great pride in what we do.
Key Responsibilities
- Striking, cleaning and setting moulds
- Working with power tools, both manual and powered
- Manual handling - lifting, carrying and stacking stones
- Finishing stonework to a high standard ready for delivery to site
- Tidying and general housekeeping of workshop and outside areas
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times - health and safety together with staff welfare is the highest priority
Requirements
- Previous experience in a labouring or manual handling role is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
- Physically fit and have the stamina to carry out manual work throughout the day
- Reliable, punctual and willing to learn new skills
- Able to work as part of a team
- Due to site location applicants must have their own transport or have arrangements to cover their journey to and from work
- Applicants will be required to have their own steel toecap work boots however all other PPE will be provided
This is a permanent position, working five days a week from Monday to Friday starting at 7.30am with a 4.30pm finish. Successful applicants will start on a basic pay scale, self employed via the CIS scheme for an initial trial period. We are in a unique industry therefore all training is completed in-house. Further training courses to achieve industry qualifications will be offered after the trial period to ensure that all our staff members are trained to a high standard.
