About The Role

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust security infrastructure (audits, assessments) and protocols.
  • Monitor and analyse security alerts, ensuring timely response to potential threats, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders during responses.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks, perform threat modelling using frameworks such as STRIDE and Mitre ATT&CK to identify and address potential security threats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (esp. SRE and Product) to ensure security is integrated into all stages of product development.
  • Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions.
  • Participate in compliance-related processes and activities to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Guide and train employees on security best practices.

About You

  • Proven experience in a similar security-focused role, ideally within the tech or fintech industry.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud-native security, particularly with AWS.
  • Solid CS basis: algorithms, networking, big-O, etc.
  • Ability to write software to automate, analyse, and demonstrate attacks, or suggest improvements to our engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorization.
  • Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SIEM).
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards such as GDPR, Cyber Essentials+, ISO/IEC 27001.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced distributed environment.
  • Optional bonus: Prior experience of working in a regulated industry such as Finance or Insurance.
