About Artificial

At Artificial, we’re building the next generation of technology for the specialty (re)insurance market. Our mission is to transform how brokers and carriers operate in complex markets by removing operational barriers and enabling smarter, faster decision‑making. We use modern technology to solve real challenges for some of the world’s leading brokers and insurers. By automating the repetitive and structuring the complex, we help our partners unlock new opportunities for innovation and growth.

You’ll be joining a collaborative team that values curiosity, ownership, and continuous learning. We work in an environment where ideas are heard, support is built‑in, and outcomes matter. Everyone here has the chance to make a tangible impact on our products, our customers, and the industry.

We’ve just raised $45M (£33M) in Series B funding from lead investor CommerzVentures, new investor Move Capital, as well as all existing shareholders. This investment round gives us the room to grow with confidence, continue to innovate, and ensure that Artificial remains the first choice for brokers and carriers seeking a smarter way to trade digitally. Join us, and take the chance to be a part of something that will change the landscape of insurance for generations.

About the role

Solutions Architects are a core part of a Field team working closely with our customers, Forward Deployed Engineers, and Product teams to deliver complex integrations. No two customers are the same and at Artificial Labs, we pride ourselves on making sure we can deliver maximum value for our customers by meeting them wherever they are. From large multinationals through to startups and throughout the world of insurance, Artificial Labs can be configured to deliver a wide range of solutions. As a Solutions Architect, you’re responsible for turning hypothetical spreadsheet slides into functioning solutions.

You’ll sit at the edge of our product and help push at the limits in the art of the possible. You’ll thrive in tackling novel problems and take ownership in solving them whilst working closely with engineers, sales, and customers. You’ll also need to ‘see through’ problem descriptions and realise solutions that customers may never have thought of.

Here is a snapshot of what you’ll be doing:

  • Serve as a “trusted advisor” to customers, ranging from managers and executives through to IT security teams, helping them navigate complex technical decisions.
  • Build and debug custom applications and integration layers, ensuring that the art of the possible is backed by functional, high‑quality code.
  • Design end‑to‑end technical solutions that integrate the Artificial Labs platform with customer ecosystems, utilising APIs, event‑driven architectures, and modern auth protocols.
  • Deploy and maintain secure, cloud‑native infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) using Infrastructure as Code to support bespoke customer deployments.
  • Work closely with internal Product and Engineering teams to feed customer insights back into the core platform, helping to push the boundaries of the product’s capabilities.

About you

  • Strong customer‑facing skills, able to work closely across multiple business units from IT/Security through to non‑technical end users and C‑Suite.
  • Comfortable working with Sales and Customer Success teams to deliver demos, run workshops and communicate technical details to a wide audience.
  • Strong technical architecture skills and able to deploy known patterns for working with APIs, event‑driven systems, authentication/authorization, and bespoke data‑heavy systems with an understanding of risks and benefits of implementation.
  • Cloud computing expertise (AWS/Azure/GCP) with IaC tooling able to deploy, debug and maintain infrastructure using modern serverless technologies.
  • Strong coding ability and able to get hands‑on with building bespoke integrations for customers both within our platform and as custom applications where applicable.
  • You don’t just rinse‑and‑repeat solutions, but instead know to pick the right tool for the job and can justify your technical decisions.
  • Are a motivated ‘self‑starter’ that can take ambiguous, messy requirements and work with multiple teams to deliver solutions from architecture and design through to implementation and delivery.

We especially want to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience with Insurance.
  • Experience with Terraform, Python, and any functional programming languages.
  • Worked before in a highly visible role working directly with customers.

Benefits

  • Private medical insurance.
  • Income protection insurance.
  • Life insurance of 4 × base salary.
  • On‑site gym and shower facilities.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay.
  • Team social events and company parties.
  • Salary exchange on pension and nursery fees.
  • Access to Maji, the financial wellbeing platform.
  • Company stock options managed through Ledgy.
  • Milestone birthday bonus and a life‑events leave policy.
  • Generous holiday allowance of 28 days plus national holidays.
  • Home office and equipment allowance, and a company MacBook.
  • Learning allowance and leave to attend conferences or take exams.
  • YuLife employee benefits, including EAP and bereavement helplines.
  • For each new hire, we plant a tree through our partnership with Ecologi Action.
  • The best coffee machine in London, handmade in Italy and imported just for us.

We’re proud to be an equal opportunities employer and are committed to building a team that reflects the diverse communities around us. If there’s anything you need to make the hiring process more accessible, just let us know—we’re happy to make adjustments. You’re also welcome to share your preferred pronouns with us at any point.

Think you don’t meet every requirement? Please apply anyway. We value potential as much as experience, and we know that raw talent counts.

As part of our hiring process, we’ll carry out some background checks. These may include a criminal record check, reviewing your credit history, speaking with previous employers and confirming your academic qualifications.
