- Trainee Setter
Please note this position will be on a 3-shift rotation, alternating weekly between afternoons (14:00-22:00), mornings (06:00-14:00) and nights (22:00-06:00).
- Main purpose of the job
- To develop the skills and knowledge required to safely set and start injection moulding tools, support tool changes, maintain production performance, troubleshoot process issues, and contribute to continuous improvement activities while working towards full Setter competency.
- Main missions and results
- Setting tools in presses and their start up in line with production requirements
- Start and Stop Injection Moulding Presses
- Prepare Tools and Equipment in advance of a Tool Change
- Sling and Lift Tools using Cranes
- Presentation of 1st off part to Quality Dept. for 1st off process
- Adhering to Artifex Quality and work procedures
- Set up robot heads and load programmes
- Reporting faults to tool-room / maintenance in accordance with Artifex procedures
- Ensure accurate completion of job packs prior to and at Tool Change
- Recording deviations on the process log
- Troubleshooting and supporting process improvements as directed by the Process Engineer/Lead Setter
- Responsible for safety checks, housekeeping in and around machine areas, routine maintenance checks where specified - always being aware of the safety of other employees
- Participate in SMED activities
- Work to and report KPI targets/results with respect to Tool Change times and OEE data
- Tool Maintenance and Preparation, along with basic plant and equipment maintenance.
- Perform colour changes
- Any other projects or tasks assigned to you by management team
- Preferred Skills And Experience
- Experience with Injection Moulding machines/robots would be advantageous
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating a proactive attitude towards learning new skills
- Must be PC literate
