This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Business Development and R&D team at a key moment, as we drive new business, growth, and diversification under Tata AutoComp's strategic direction. Responsibilities
- Lead the advanced development of secondary operations such as trimming, assembly, and finishing operations, ensuring capability, repeatability, and efficiency.
- Define and process flows, tooling, and equipment specifications to meet product and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering to influence design for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
- Develop Foundation PFMEA, Control Plans, and process documentation to manage risk and ensure compliance.
- Support proof of concept with robust process controls and validation techniques.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, scrap, and cost while improving quality and safety.
- Lead problem-solving activities for process-related issues using structured methodologies (8D, A3).
- Develop initial technical specifications and requirements for supplier RFQ process.
- Ensure audit readiness and compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
- Coach and mentor engineers and technicians to build process knowledge and capability across the organisation.
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Extensive experience in automotive manufacturing processes with a focus on the relevant discipline.
- Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects and cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, and process validation techniques.
- Expertise in PFMEA development and risk management.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering; advanced qualifications desirable.
- Auditing experience (ISO/IATF standards) preferred.
