Articulum are a small furniture manufacturing company based in Sowerby Bridge. The company manufactures a range of interior and exterior home furniture such as dining tables, benches, storage cubes, garden planters and picnic tables.
Role Description
This is a part-time on-site contract role for a Bench Joiner based in Sowerby Bridge. The role involves performing a variety of joinery tasks, such as making wooden component parts, assembling and constructing. The Bench Joiner will work with carpentry and woodworking tools such as table saw, planer, wide belt sander, cross cut, hand tools and power tools. Daily responsibilities include measuring, cutting, shaping, and finishing wood products to high-quality standards, ensuring projects meet specifications and deadlines in a safe and organised environment. Collaboration with team members to achieve project objectives is also a key part of the role.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in woodworking techniques
- Skilled in using woodworking equipment, Power Tools and Hand Tools for woodworking and joinery tasks
- Familiarity with assembling wooden structures and joints
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality finishes
- Understanding of workplace safety procedures and best practices in woodworking
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in joinery or carpentry are advantageous
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
The role will be part-time on a contract basis. Hours will be flexible according to production demand. Due to the flexible nature of the work, it could be done during daytime, evenings or weekends around other work obligations. Rates negotiable depending on skill/experience. Must have own tools.
