Cutting Edge Theatre are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic drama groups for learning disabled children (aged 8+), young people, and adults. This is an exciting opportunity to combine therapeutic expertise with creative arts, helping participants express themselves, build confidence, and connect with others through performance and play. The Speech and Language Therapist will work alongside our drama groups and tutors across Edinburgh, Fife and Aberdeen.
About the Role
As our Speech and Language Therapist, you will work alongside our Tutors to observe and assess the speech of the drama group participants. You will help identify areas for improvement and suggest simple, practical ways to work on speech, either as a group or with individuals. Some participants may also benefit from one-to-one sessions. The focus throughout will be on building speech skills in a supportive and creative setting.
Responsibilities

- Deliver one-to-one sessions as needed.
- Support the development of speech skills within a creative, non-clinical setting.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Qualified Speech and Language Therapist (HCPC registered)
- Experience working with learning disabled children and/or adults
- Excellent interpersonal and team working skills
- Flexible and able to adapt therapeutic approaches to creative, non-clinical settings
- PVG check
- Full driving licence & access to a vehicle (due to multiple locations)
Desirable:
- Experience using creative or arts-based methods in therapy
- A love for drama and creative expression

- Hours: Part-time / Flexible (Evenings & Weekends may be required)
- Rate of pay: £40/hr, 2 hours per week during term time (40 weeks per year). Travel costs in Edinburgh & Fife included in pay.
