We are looking for two experienced performance puppeteers to carry large 3‑meter high puppets for Mauchline Holy Fair on 30th May 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Carry the 3‑meter high puppets (Rabbie Burns and Jean Armour) using a rucksack frame on the day of the fair.
- Assist with climbing into and assembling the costumes.
- Participate in the parade and wander around the fair in the afternoon for photo opportunities with the public.
- Complete three 40‑minute hourly stints with rest breaks in between.
Requirements:
- Experience carrying large carnival puppets.
- Strong, good balance and fitness to handle the 7‑foot high puppet.
- Ability to follow a planned rehearsal on 29th May if required.
