Artic Building Services Ltd is an established and recognised provider within M&E and Facilities Management with particular focus on public sector delivery to the NHS and Education. This focus requires consistent competitive tendering and engagement to ensure continued growth. As part of the Mecsia Group, Artic has robust targets to secure with competitive solutioning and costing being a core element. This role is key to success with responsibility in securing new work.

Artic is looking for an experienced hard service/FM estimator with particular experience in delivering solutions from £250k to £2m pa. A clear appreciation of the complexities of SFG20 and operational experience would be required with technical knowledge and commercial acumen key to the success of this role. Experience in leading costing, delivering critical thinking and strategies through governance meetings is key with Excel proficiency coupled with commercial and operational analysis also central to this key role. Experience with HTM’s and public sector bidding experience is also essential.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as the accountable pricing lead on bids
  • Own and develop end-to-end pricing models (labour, costing, scenario modelling, subcontractor costing)
  • Work with subcontractors to share specification detail, and obtain prices in a timely manner
  • Lead the pricing workstream within the bid team and coordinate key stakeholders
  • Translate operational solutions into robust commercial submissions
  • Identify, quantify and manage risk and opportunity within bids
  • Support governance processes and clearly articulate pricing decisions
  • Contribute to mobilisation and transition pricing
  • Continuously improve pricing methodologies and bid processes
  • Proven ownership of end-to-end FM tender pricing

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience pricing Facilities Management contracts in healthcare, education and commercial sectors
  • Background within FM or outsourced services environments
  • Strong Excel and commercial modelling capability
  • Ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders across bid, commercial and operational teams

Job Duties:

  • Strictly apply to the Bid No Bid protocols, escalating to management any queries
  • Support BDMs and Bid Managers throughout the sales cycle
  • Manage all estimate deadlines in a priority and organised manner
  • Evaluate and highlight any operational and commercial risk before agreeing to proceed, following the requirements of the bid / no bid process
  • Deliver fully compliant bids and variant bids if applicable
  • Complete customer pricing return in bid pack and provide clarification questions to Bid Manager to submit
  • Create depth to our Sub Contractor and Supply chain, by challenging the current base and introducing alternatives
  • At inception of any win ensure the company Handover and Mobilisation checklist is completed to the required standard
  • During handover detail any possible opportunities for contract variations or specific contract risk items
  • Support with all Health and Safety issues
