Arthur is delighted to be partnering with a leading Lloyd’s Syndicate in their search for a Senior Energy Claims Adjuster. The claims department is continuously seeking to be a market-leader in the provision of an efficient, cost-effective and professional service to their brokers and clients. Their vision is to be the most customer centric, nimble and value adding claims team in the market. The claims team works collaboratively alongside the underwriting function to facilitate close communication and exchange of ideas and is an integral part of their product and customer service.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing your claims in accordance with the company’s claims and reserving philosophy, the claims handling manual and all regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Escalating claims to your manager, where appropriate, for input on strategy and/or reserving.
  • Monitoring, providing feedback and ensuring compliance on KPIs.
  • Driving, facilitating and delivering a customer-focused approach to claims which is measurable through speed of service and open, honest and personable communications with all brokers.
  • Producing good quality and informative narratives and information on key claims and claims developments, and ensuring this is escalated as appropriate to management, including provision of narratives for inclusion in your team's monthly/quarterly reports.
  • Working closely with the underwriting team, including providing feedback on claims experiences, contract wordings, claims data or feedback for any renewal or new business and interacting with placing and claims brokers to develop strong relationships.
  • Collaborating with our Actuarial and Outwards Reinsurance teams, ensuring that they are all apprised of new notifications and significant developments.
  • Working with the underwriters to develop business by participating in client meetings, presenting on topics of interest and attending conferences.
  • Leading claims on all classes of business handled by the team, including attending underwriting meetings, learning about the class and developing relationships with key stakeholders in the claims handling process.
  • Assisting the Claims Manager with specific ad hoc projects and providing innovative ways of doing things as required.

Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Strong Lloyd’s and London Insurance market experience in Energy claims is required.
  • Leading and managing strategy on a portfolio of complex and/or high value claims and being a point person to the relevant underwriters.
  • Analysing the portfolio to assist in identifying the most profitable sub-segments and those areas where remedial action should be taken.
  • Analysing and interpreting data to enhance the company’s underwriting capabilities (e.g. loss performance and underwriting efficiency).
  • Scoping out problems/questions for analysis and working with actuarial/underwriting/claims manager or head of class to investigate.
  • Assisting underwriters with the development of policy language to achieve desired coverage and proposing wording amendments to manager and/or underwriters.
