Arthur is delighted to be supporting a manager role within the pricing function for a speciality insurer. You will be leading a team and supporting the Head of Technical and Specialty Pricing in managing the development and delivery of pricing models across both local and global business lines.

The position involves overseeing actuarial build projects, maintaining coding and documentation standards, and ensuring strong collaboration with underwriting and pricing delivery teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and rebuild of pricing models, including the production of management information dashboards.
  • Oversee significant updates to existing models, ensuring work is delivered to agreed scope and technical standards.
  • Manage the replatforming of pricing tools and the migration of datasets.
  • Ensure all models are properly documented in line with Technical Actuarial Standards and internal policies.
  • Incorporate enhancements from new platform functionality where appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships across the business to support effective underwriting decisions.
  • Represent the company at relevant external meetings and events.
  • Ensure compliance with FCA, PRA and internal governance requirements.
  • Manage actuarial projects from inception through to delivery.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in London Market pricing.
  • Understanding of specialty and commercial insurance lines.
  • Experience with Hyperexponential Renew is advantageous.
  • At least two years’ post‑qualification experience (or equivalent actuarial experience).
  • Proficient in relevant analytical software such as Python, SQL, GLM tools and PowerBI.
  • Strong skills in Excel and VBA.
  • Experience managing technical specialists.
