This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance lawyer to step into a broad and influential role, working closely with senior leadership to provide practical legal advice, manage regulatory requirements, and help drive key business initiatives.
Office: Please note that this role requires a minimum of four days per week in the office, providing excellent opportunities for collaboration and business engagement.
- What you’ll do
- Lead legal, regulatory, and compliance matters for a specialist insurance platform operating within the London market.
- Provide strategic advice on insurance, governance, regulatory, and commercial issues across the business.
- Oversee legal, compliance, and corporate governance activities.
- Support engagement with industry bodies, regulators, and other key external stakeholders.
- Advise senior management on risk, governance, and business-critical initiatives.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial and operational agreements.
- Support data protection, regulatory, and compliance frameworks across the organisation.
- Manage external legal advisers and oversee legal spend.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple jurisdictions on legal and regulatory matters.
- Provide support for board and committee governance activities and related corporate matters.
- Who we’re looking for
- Qualified solicitor with significant post-qualification experience gained in the insurance industry.
- Strong insurance and reinsurance background, with strong exposure to the London market and regulated environments.
- Experience advising on regulatory, governance, compliance, and commercial matters.
- Familiarity with UK and European regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Commercial, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented approach.
