Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Underwriting Assistant to join a leading Lloyd's syndicate on an initial 9 month fixed term contract.
You will play a key role in supporting underwriting and operational delivery acting as the primary link between Underwriting and Business Support, with the opportunity to lead on complex tasks and support project work.
You’ll work across multiple teams, manage complex administrative and technical processes, and help drive high-quality data, timely processing, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage documentation, risk administration, and premium processing, including complex cases and lineslip/binder oversight.
- Handle core operational tasks such as bookings, cash queries, exception reporting, policy administration, and data quality monitoring.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across Underwriting, Credit Control, Claims, Portfolio Management, and offshore teams to maintain strong operational performance.
- Support wider operational delivery through reporting, audits, month-end activities, training, continuous improvement.
Experience / Qualifications
- Background in insurance operations, preferably within the London/Lloyd’s market, with familiarity in systems such as Genius/IRIS.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data, supported by a strong analytical mindset.
- High attention to detail and the capability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
