Shape the future of data architecture across a global, complex and highly regulated organisation. We're looking for a Lead Enterprise Data Architect to define, evolve and safeguard the data architecture landscape across an enterprise operating in a multi-party ecosystem. This is a strategic, influential role - not about owning delivery - where you'll set direction, create guardrails, shape future state data capabilities and ensure data decisions across the organisation are aligned to long term strategy. If you excel in environments where influence matters more than authority, and you're passionate about the evolution of modern data ecosystems, this is an opportunity with real scope and visibility.
Why this role exists: The organisation is modernising its data foundations, platforms and operating models - moving towards a cloud enabled, insight driven, resilient data ecosystem. This role steers that journey, shaping the enterprise-wide data architecture, partnering with senior leaders, and ensuring the business can scale data, AI and analytics safely and intelligently. This is not a delivery or modelling role - it is a strategic and architectural leadership position.
What You'll Lead:
- Set the Data Vision & Strategic Direction
- Define and evolve the enterprise data capability architecture and future state data ecosystem.
- Develop conceptual guardrails, patterns and strategic recommendations across the data landscape.
- Bring innovative thinking, market insight and strategic vision to influence the organisation's data evolution.
Shape Architecture Through Influence (Not Ownership):
- Guide delivery teams, platform leads, data owners and partners to adopt the right standards and architectural approaches.
- Provide early engagement on initiatives, shaping direction before design begins.
- Represent data architecture across governance forums and strategic decision boards.
Enterprise Governance & Standards:
- Lead the creation and socialisation of data principles, standards and reference architectures.
- Ensure data designs align to enterprise patterns, regulatory expectations and long term strategy.
- Partner with solution architects and vendors (including third party delivery partners) to embed enterprise-aligned data decisions.
Data Capability Maturity & Ecosystem Stewardship:
- Influence maturity of metadata, lineage, data quality, MDM, modelling and analytics foundations.
- Support the evolution of cloud data platforms, including Databricks, Azure, modern lakehouse patterns and medallion architecture.
- Identify critical data assets and enable the right ownership and stewardship frameworks.
Risk, Compliance & Non Functional Alignment:
- Ensure resilience, privacy, regulatory alignment and data control design considerations are built into solution architectures.
- Highlight architectural risks and guide owners toward appropriate mitigation paths.
Where You'll Sit:
- Exposure to: C Suite, SLT, senior business leaders, technical leadership and enterprise governance forums.
- Influence-first role, no direct reports but significant architectural reach.
If you have the above then please apply now for immediate consideration.
