Job Description
Arthur are supporting an exciting Start-Up MGA, backed by a European Lloyd's Broker, going through Regulatory approval, establishing all business operations. The business are looking for a Financial literate Operations professional to support the CFO. The role will be leading the set-up of all business processes, implementing systems & operational structures.Responsibilities:
- Build and execute controls that ensure month-end financial and regulatory information is complete and accurate
- Review and controls execution of technical administration and technical accounting
- Leading recurring and ad-hoc data reconciliation investigations (supported by workflow tools) to answer requests to produce and make sense of data, find information, identify errors, and suggest potential solutions to those errors
- Establishing Business processes
- Designing and interpreting reports to support the teams in analysing data and monitoring controls
- Driving continuous process improvement in response to cross-functional feedback after reporting periods
- Establishing Underwriting Operations
- Bordereaux preparation, payment & reconciliation
- Bordereaux models to accommodate paying underwriters on a pay as paid basis with detailed reconciliation
- Accounts payable & receivable management
- Cash Flow management
Experience Required:
- 7+ years within the Insurance Industry (ideally within a Start-Up environment)
- Track record of establishing processes & controls across Finance, Operations & Underwriting
- Able to understand, analyse, and manipulate large amounts of financial data
- Strong knowledge of Bordereaux processes
- Strong reconciliation skills – able to deep dive in to and analyse data
- Risk-focused – able to quickly identify risks and issues, and articulate the associated process impacts
