Arthur is delighted to be collaborating with a global (re)insure who are seeking a Pricing Developer to join their growing actuarial pricing function. This role plays a pivotal part in developing, maintaining and enhancing pricing models and tools built on the HX platform, to support the underwriters and actuaries to make data-driven, consistent and profitable decisions across the (re)insurance portfolio.
You will work closely with pricing actuaries, data engineers and underwriters to design scalable, efficient pricing models, automate workflows and improve the usability of our pricing ecosystem.
Responsibilities:- Build, enhance and maintain pricing models within the HX platform (for example, HX Renew).
- Translate actuarial methodologies and underwriting logic into robust, modular and maintainable HX code.
- Ensure effective version control and documentation of models for transparency and auditability.
- Collaborate with data teams to integrate internal and external data sources (exposure, claims, catastrophe and market data) into HX pricing tools.
- Optimise model performance and data flows for reliability and efficiency.
- Partner with pricing actuaries and underwriters and IT and R&D teams.
- Identify opportunities to enhance model performance and user experience.
- Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- Progress towards actuarial or data science qualifications (e.g. IFoA, CFA, CAA) would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience in developing pricing models in HX Renew.
- Strong understanding of insurance or reinsurance pricing concepts (rate setting, exposure rating, loss modelling, catastrophe modelling, etc.).
- Proficiency in Python, Excel/VBA, R or SQL.
- Experience with APIs, data pipelines or cloud integrations (for example, Azure or AWS).
- Understanding of model governance and documentation best practice.
- Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and actuarial stakeholders.
