A leading London Market Underwriter is looking for a Senior Data Business Analyst to lead the discovery, definition, and delivery of data-focused projects across a well established Change and Transformation function. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of data processes, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives, while influencing the evolution of the organisation’s Business Analysis framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the initiation, discovery, and delivery of multiple data and BI projects, ensuring scope, budget, and timelines are controlled.
- Play a key role in developing the data business analysis function, with future opportunities to take on leadership and line management responsibilities as the team grows.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to capture clear and actionable requirements using techniques such as data models, data flows, report specifications, and wireframes.
- Partner with the Data Engineering and BI teams to define and implement robust data pipelines, reporting solutions, and analytical models that support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Analyse data, including identifying sources, assessing data quality, defining lineage, and ensuring adherence to data governance standards.
- Translate complex business needs into solutions, acting as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Lead improvements in Business Analysis processes, tools, and governance, particularly related to data and BI delivery.
- Support the embedding of project deliverables into business-as-usual operations.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong experience as a Data Business Analyst or Senior BA in a complex, data-driven environment.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of the Lloyd’s or London Market data environment.
- Solid understanding of BI and data technologies (SQL, SSRS, Power BI) and relational database/reporting architectures.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience producing clear visual documentation (data flows, wireframes, models) to support analysis and delivery.
- Familiarity with modern delivery and collaboration tools (e.g., Miro, Test Monitor, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence).
Hybrid working model, 2 days in the London office.
