A global Insurer and Reinsurer operating in the Lloyd's market have exclusively partnered with us to support with the hire of a Ceded Reinsurance Finance Manager to join their internationally based Reinsurance Accounting function.
In this role you'll lead key aspects of ceded reinsurance accounting insuring the integrity of financial information and the effective management of accounting operations.
The role builds strong partnerships across Finance, Underwriting, Claims, brokers, and external counterparties to support regulatory, statutory, and management reporting requirements.
Responsibilities will include;
- Manage the preparation and review of quarterly ceded reinsurance underwriting results, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis across GAAP, Statutory, Lloyd's, and management reporting frameworks.
- Oversee the month-end and quarter-end close process including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, account analyses, and maintain compliant with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Direct the accounting and administration of ceded reinsurance transactions
- Lead a team of two accounting professionals including overseeing work allocation, reviewing deliverables and provide guidance, support and coaching where necessary.
- Further strengthen financial controls framework and lead the projects to improve processes, streamline reporting and promote efficiency.
- You must;
- Possess demonstrable technical experience reinsurance accounting ideally within a Lloyd's Syndicate environment.
- Experienced in preparing and reporting financial results under GAAP.
- Ideally have previously mentored, supervised or management individuals and supporting during a periodic close process.
- Excellent communication and business partnering skills as this role will work with a number of key stakeholders
- Proficient with MS Office and in particular Excel.
Salary on offer ranges between £70k - £95k (depending on experience) + excellent benefits, hybrid working and a warm collaborative environment.
