We are partnering with an innovative, tech-enabled global reinsurance platform specialising in dynamic risk-exchange and specialty underwriting solutions. Operating globally, the business leverages advanced analytics and strategic capital partnerships to empower primary underwriters and ceding entities across international markets.

An experienced Reinsurance Accounting Manager is required to take full ownership of the financial close and reporting cycle for a key risk-bearing operating entity. The role centers on US GAAP financial reporting, technical reinsurance accounting, internal control oversight, and partnering with actuaries and ceding entities across the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Close & US GAAP Reporting: Lead the end-to-end entity-level financial close and prepare compliant financial statements and statutory disclosures under US GAAP.
  • Reinsurance & Technical Accounting: Manage technical ledgers for complex reinsurance contracts, internal group ceding arrangements, premium schedules, and payables/receivables tracking.
  • Cross-Functional & Actuarial Collaboration: Partner closely with actuarial teams to validate reserve bookings, and coordinate with local finance functions within ceding entities to deliver detailed analytical reviews.
  • Controls & Audit Oversight: Maintain and document internal control frameworks aligned with SOX standards, managing relationships with internal and external audit teams.
  • Systems & Process Optimization: Support the implementation and onboarding of core financial ledger tools and enterprise reporting systems.

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional Qualification: CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent accounting designation with 4+ years post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Sector Background: Strong background in Big 4 insurance audit combined with direct experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, complex reinsurance structuring, collateral frameworks, and SOX internal control environments.
  • Systems & Soft Skills: Highly proficient with industry-standard ERPs and MS Office; capable of working autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
