A leading global specialty insurer is seeking an experienced Senior Syndicate Accountant to join their high-performing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment as they build their internal syndicate reporting function from scratch.
As a key member of the syndicate finance team, you will deputise the Syndicate Financial Controller and will be an integral part of the set up of the Syndicate Finance function as they bring this in-house. You will be involved in the build of new processes and systems giving you access to interesting project work and the ability to immediately add value. Alongside this, you will oversee financial and regulatory reporting across Lloyd’s syndicate operations, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, Solvency II, and other regulatory frameworks. You will play a crucial role in the preparation and review of statutory accounts, Lloyd’s returns, and regulatory submissions across multiple jurisdictions including the US and Canada.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review syndicate returns (QMA, QSR/ASR, Solvency UK, etc.)
- Deliver quarterly and annual financial statements and regulatory reports
- Lead audit processes and support risk and compliance reviews
- Provide insightful financial analysis to senior stakeholders and committees
- Heavily involved in the build of new processes and systems and support with finance-related project work
What We’re Looking For:
- Extensive demonstrable experience of completing Lloyds returns end-to-end
- Strong knowledge of Lloyd’s reporting processes
- Professional accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent
- Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines
