Job Description Head of Compliance - 12-Month FTC Location: London – hybrid working, approximately two days per week in the office Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract We are partnering with a specialist insurance and reinsurance business to appoint an experienced Head of Compliance for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a senior and visible position with responsibility for leading the compliance function, advising the executive team and maintaining effective relationships with the FCA, PRA and Lloyd’s. The successful candidate will take ownership of the organisation’s compliance strategy and act as SMF16 – Compliance Oversight and SMF17 – Money Laundering Reporting Officer, subject to regulatory approval.] Own and develop the organisation’s compliance strategy. Provide expert regulatory advice to the executive team, boards and wider business. Coordinate regulatory visits and responses to information requests. Maintain robust Compliance Monitoring Plan and Compliance Risk Assessment frameworks. Oversee the organisation’s financial crime and wider regulatory compliance obligations. Arrange compliance audits and risk assessments, reporting findings to senior stakeholders and supporting any resulting improvements. Produce regular compliance reports for boards and executive committees. Maintain and update compliance policies, processes, training and regulatory records. Manage the completion of relevant regulatory returns. Lead and manage the Compliance team. Support strategic activity including acquisitions, restructuring and business change. Senior compliance experience within insurance or reinsurance. Previous SMF16 and/or SMF17 experience, or the experience and credibility required to secure regulatory approval. Detailed knowledge of FCA, PRA and Lloyd’s regulatory requirements. Experience managing regulatory relationships. Strong financial crime and regulatory compliance knowledge. Experience owning compliance monitoring and risk assessment frameworks. Experience managing and developing a compliance team. Exposure to acquisitions, entity onboarding, restructuring or other strategic change would be advantageous.
