Shape the platforms that underpin a global organisation. We’re partnering with a globally recognised insurance organisation undergoing a significant transformation of its technology and operating model. At the centre of this is a shift toward platform‑led architecture — where enterprise platforms are treated as long‑term strategic assets, not just systems. This role sits at the heart of that transformation.
As Lead Platform Architect, you’ll define and govern the organisation’s enterprise platform landscape — ensuring platforms are scalable, resilient, cost‑efficient, and capable of supporting multiple business capabilities. This is not a solution or delivery role. You’ll operate at an enterprise level, influencing how platforms are selected, designed, governed, and evolved over time.
What you’ll be doing:
- Define and evolve target‑state and transitional platform architectures
- Shape multi‑year platform roadmaps aligned to business strategy
- Set and enforce architecture standards, guardrails, and reusable patterns
- Drive platform simplification, reducing duplication and technical debt
- Ensure platforms meet security, resilience, and regulatory requirements
- Lead vendor strategy, including selection, lifecycle, and exit planning
- Partner with engineering teams to drive practical adoption of architecture direction
You’ll influence direction early — ensuring teams build on the right foundations.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience operating as a Platform Architect or Enterprise Architect
- Proven ownership of enterprise platforms across their lifecycle
- Strong understanding of SaaS / COTS platforms and cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Experience working within complex or regulated environments
- Ability to operate across business and technology, influencing without authority
Why this role:
- This is a genuinely high‑impact opportunity to shape core enterprise platforms, not individual applications
- Influence decisions that affect long‑term strategy, cost, and scalability
- Operate in an environment where architecture discipline and platform maturity are critical to success
