This role sits within the Compliance function of a London Market insurance business and reports directly to the Senior Compliance Manager. It is a broad Compliance role covering both Advisory and Monitoring, with a strong focus on Financial Crime and Sanctions.
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the business, providing high-quality regulatory advice, assurance, and support during a transition period ahead of a permanent hire joining.
Responsibilities- Lead the ongoing implementation and embedding of the Financial Crime Prevention Framework, including reviewing and enhancing policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory handbook requirements.
- Conduct regular sanctions screening using screening tools, providing pragmatic advice to the business and maintaining appropriate audit trails and records.
- Monitor Financial Crime Prevention activity across the business, with responsibility for maturing existing logs, MI, and reporting outputs.
- Support the development and execution of the Compliance Monitoring Plan, including testing and follow-up actions.
- Assist the Senior Compliance Manager with wider Compliance activities such as horizon scanning, maintaining Compliance policies and procedures, regulatory training, and Compliance reporting.
- Build strong relationships across the business to ensure regulatory considerations are embedded into day-to-day operations and project activity.
- Previous Compliance experience within a London Market (re)insurer.
- Strong hands-on experience in Financial Crime Prevention (essential).
- Exposure to other Compliance areas such as Monitoring, Conduct, or Licensing is desirable.
- Solid understanding of FCA and PRA regulatory frameworks.
- Comfortable working independently in a small team environment and able to hit the ground running in a contract role.
