Role Overview

As an Inhouse Consultant within a renowned global specialty insurance and reinsurance firm, you will act as a subject matter expert for HR, Risk, and Compliance platforms, ensuring these tools and services continue to meet business needs, adapt to regulatory change, and support broader operational objectives. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, advise on improvements, and help deliver initiatives that enhance efficiency, strengthen risk management, and embed best practice across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the advisor and business partner for HR, Risk, and Compliance platforms, ensuring processes and solutions are aligned with operational needs, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with stakeholders to identify and investigate operational issues, providing structured analysis and practical recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain oversight of change initiatives and backlogs, ensuring priorities are aligned to strategic goals, compliance obligations, and business value.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering, and benefit tracking to support the delivery of process and system changes.
  • Monitor emerging regulatory and policy changes, assessing potential impacts on business platforms and processes, and advising stakeholders accordingly.
  • Collaborate with Operations, IT, HR, Compliance, and Risk teams to support smooth delivery of initiatives and embed new ways of working.
  • Maintain and evolve process documentation, operating procedures, and risk registers to ensure they remain current and effective.
  • Contribute to the maturity of the Product Management function by sharing knowledge, shaping best practice, and championing continuous improvement.

Person Specification

  • Strong communicator and facilitator, with the ability to translate technical or regulatory detail into clear business insights.
  • Collaborative and diplomatic, with the confidence to influence and build trust across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Analytical and solution-focused, comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a professional and pragmatic approach to problem solving.

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in the London Market Insurance industry (essential).
  • Hands-on knowledge of London Market platforms and related processes.
  • Background in management consulting, business product analysis, or business analysis within insurance.
  • Skilled in process mapping, gap analysis, and identifying opportunities for operational or regulatory improvement.
  • Understanding of risk management principles and compliance obligations in a regulated environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word) with strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Familiarity with project lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and supporting backlog or change delivery.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing business cases and requirements documentation.
