We are delighted to be partnering with a leading Insurance business to recruit an experienced Financial Accountant for a key hire within their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with insurance sector experience to join a highly respected organisation operating across multiple international entities and branches. The successful candidate will gain broad exposure across financial reporting, reinsurance, taxation, reconciliations and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of month-end accounting entries relating to inbound underwriting transactions, covering areas such as earned premium recognition, claims movements and fronting activity.
- Analyse monthly financial results for several entities, reviewing both individual company performance and consolidated group reporting and prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
- Contribute to the year-end reporting cycle through the production of statutory accounts and supporting schedules.
- Prepare indirect and direct tax returns, including corporate tax and insurance premium tax, across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors where required.
- Identify opportunities to streamline, standardise and digitise finance processes.
- Build strong relationships with underwriting, claims, actuarial, tax and wider business functions.
You must be; ACA / ACCA qualified, or equivalent with 5+ years’ relevant experience. Experience in an accounting role within insurance. Reinsurance Accounting experience would be highly desirable. Strong Excel experience and an eye for digital automation. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Fantastic communication skills both written and verbal.
Salary on offer is up to £85k + comprehensive bonus and hybrid working.
