Overview

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Technical Assistant to join our team. This is a varied role offering excellent career development opportunities, with full training and support provided. The successful candidate will gain experience across multiple aspects of building services projects, from procurement and estimating to documentation and technical support.

Location

This role is primarily office based at our offices in Fleckney, Leicestershire, with occasional visits to construction sites across the East Midlands.

Responsibilities

  • Document management via systems such as Viewpoint, Trimble, Autodesk CC etc
  • Assisting with estimating, including preparing take-offs, issuing enquiries, liaising with sub-trades and supporting bid submissions
  • Supporting the contracts and engineering team with project procurement and coordination of sub-contractors
  • Technical appraisal and ordering of key plant items
  • Producing and maintaining risk assessments and method statements, ensuring documents are updated in line with current working practices
  • Preparing handover and commissioning documentation, including test certificates and O&M manuals
  • Managing and maintaining the training matrix for the site team as well as organising and programming employee training
  • Producing “As Installed” drawings and Programmes of Works
  • Compiling, printing and distributing project documentation and records
  • General office administration, including receiving deliveries and welcoming visitors
  • Materials control and checking of deliveries etc
  • Assistance with completion of PQQs

Candidate Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and the Construction Industry would be advantageous, though training can be provided
  • Previous experience or knowledge of building services is desirable but not essential
  • Strong organisational skills, with a proactive and motivated approach
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills, full training will be provided
