Overview
The seven-person sustainable investment team provides investment strategy advice to our clients on all matters from setting investment beliefs and objectives around sustainability to defining a strategy to meet them including implementation routes like investment allocations and mandate changes to enhanced stewardship and advocacy.
How you\’ll make an impact
- Leading our stewardship solutions and advisory work including our Enhanced Stewardship Platform (ESP) which gives clients our views on their manager’s stewardship and voting capabilities and performance using bespoke analytics.
- Driving the continued build-out of stewardship strategy solutions for clients particularly those that are interested in public policy advocacy or have other types of systems-based stewardship beliefs
- Keeping the team and clients aware of regulatory and market-led policy developments and responding to relevant consultations on their behalf.
- Actively contributing to the continual improvement of our Manager Research process with regard to stewardship assessment and conducting these alongside asset class researchers when required.
- Representing the firm by keeping up and/or developing your public profile, contributing to various newsletters and blogs.
- As a senior member of the team, you will be working with junior team members to deliver for our clients. Helping them gain technical experience and develop professionally is part of this role.
About you
- A background in client facing stewardship services either at an asset manager, asset owner, service provider or a standard setter with a strong understanding of sustainability issues and their impact on investment performance.
- Significant experience in stewardship assessment including in manager selection across asset classes including credit and private markets.
- An entrepreneurial mindset to client solutions with an appropriate network of peers and clients to test and refine these.
- Good professional judgement and demonstrable credibility as a subject matter expert.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience working with institutional asset owners.
- Experience doing analytics using manager voting records, proxy advisor guidance and Bloomberg.
- Strong, Excel-based analytical capabilities.
