OverviewWe're looking for an experienced Assurance & Governance Manager to join our Operations Control team within Gallagher Specialty.

This is a high-impact role where you'll lead the development and delivery of a robust first line assurance framework, ensuring our operational control environment is effective, scalable, and aligned to enterprise standards.

You'll play a key role in strengthening governance, enhancing control ownership, and providing clear, insightful assurance to senior stakeholders—helping us maintain strong regulatory compliance while supporting commercial objectivesHow you'll make an impactLeadership & team developmentLead and develop a high-performing Assurance & Governance teamSet clear objectives and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement Stakeholder engagement (core focus)Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across the businessInfluence and challenge effectively to strengthen control ownershipPresent clear insights at senior governance forumsAssurance & control environmentOwn and deliver the 1st Line Operational Control PlanOversee quality assurance, assurance reviews, and thematic analysisEnsure effective implementation of the three lines of defence modelGovernance & oversightMaintain governance frameworks, forums, and oversight structuresSupport effective decision-making through robust governance processesAudit, risk & regulatory engagementLead engagement with Audit, Risk, Compliance, and regulatorsCoordinate internal and external auditsProvide clear evidence of control effectiveness and complianceContinuous improvementDrive enhancements to controls and processesSupport business change, including acquisitions and integrationBalance regulatory expectations with commercial outcomesAbout YouSignificant experience in assurance, governance, or operational riskProven leadership experience, with the ability to develop high-performing teamsStrong track record of working with and influencing senior stakeholdersKnowledge of governance frameworks and regulatory environments, ideally within insurance, broking, or underwritingExcellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearlyExperience delivering or operating quality assurance and control frameworksCompensation and benefitsAt Gallagher, we believe supporting our colleagues goes far beyond the role itself.
