Overview: At Gallagher, we’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Associate Director – Construction Claims to join our Claims Division in London. This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex construction claims, build strong client relationships, and play a key role in delivering exceptional service across our Specialty business.

How you’ll make an impact: As an Associate Director, you will be responsible for managing construction claims from initial notification through to settlement, acting as a trusted advisor to clients and ensuring the efficient progression of claims. You’ll work closely with insurers, clients, and internal stakeholders to deliver outcomes, manage expectations, and provide technical expertise throughout the claims lifecycle.

  • Manage construction claims from notification through to conclusion, including negotiation with insurers
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients across all stages of the claims process
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, and internal teams
  • Proactively manage claims progression, ensuring timely updates and resolution
  • Review and respond to insurer queries, resolving issues efficiently
  • Monitor and track payments, ensuring timely collections and settlements
  • Ensure all claims documentation and records are accurate, complete, and compliant
  • Produce and deliver claims data and MI to clients and stakeholders as required
  • Support continuous improvement of claims handling processes and service delivery

About You: Experience & Technical Expertise

  • Significant experience in construction claims within the insurance industry (c.10+ years)
  • Strong understanding of claims processes, insurance markets, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience handling complex claims and negotiating with insurers
  • Knowledge of CLASS system and ECF claims processing (desirable)

Leadership & Skills

  • Previous experience leading or mentoring individuals/teams
  • Excellent client management and relationship-building skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Commercially aware, proactive, and solutions-focused
