Overview: At Gallagher Re we’re seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst to join our Management Information and Data Team at the start of a great period of change and modernisation. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of data management and reporting processes. You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, understanding what our broking divisions requirements and needs are from data as we continue to be a data-driven decision-making business. This role is based from our London Headquarters based in the City and we offer flexible/hybrid working with two days in the office being a usual schedule.
How you'll make an impact:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse business requirements related to data management and reporting.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of data models, dashboards, and reports to support business objectives.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business strategies predominantly using SQL and Power BI.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for developers by writing consistent and thorough user stories, documentation and acceptance criteria.
- Support the implementation of MI reporting solutions aligning business stakeholders and developers so the right solutions are created.
- Provide training and support to end-users on data tools and systems.
About You:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on data management and analysis.
- Knowledge of the insurance market gained at a broker, (re)insurer or MGA is essential.
- Previous experience in using data visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI) and an ability to query databases using SQL and snowflake.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with data governance and data quality management is preferable and the appetite to facilitate agile ceremonies, workshops etc is beneficial.
- Previous experience working in an Agile environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
