The role: Senior Casualty Reinsurance Actuary

• We are seeking to hire an experienced actuary to join our Casualty actuarial team based in London (City).
• In this role, you will apply your expertise in insurance and reinsurance pricing techniques to provide outstanding client service and contribute to the ambitious growth targets of the team.
• We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, happy to lead meetings, develop innovative insight and deliver risk solutions.

How you\’ll make an impact

• Interact and take lead role in working on global projects for the world’s biggest (re)insurer’s
• Risk analysis and modelling of clients’ portfolios including complex multinational groups.
• Design and evaluation of risk management strategies for casualty lines including emerging risks and casualty catastrophe
• Valuation and pricing of reinsurance contracts, structured insurance solutions and capital market products.
• Delivering presentations and advice to the top management of London and Bermudian based insurance groups.
• Leading renewals, tenders and strategic reinsurance reviews
• Liaising with stakeholders and building strong relationships by communicating effectively, internally and externally, to maximise service delivery levels.
• Supporting development of product innovation, both to cement/expand existing relationships and to facilitate entry into new ones.
• Developing technical and innovative solutions to modelling or data visualisation using the latest technological solutions
• Embed analytics advocacy through development of a network of analytical (and broking) contacts across the London Market
• Manage project teams and mentor resources across London and Mumbai

About You

• Ideally fully qualified as an actuary although not mandatory
• Ideally from a reinsurance background although we can compromise for fast learners
• Prior experience in insurance and/or reinsurance pricing techniques is essential
• Ideally working experience in casualty or long tailed lines although once again not mandatory
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to forming relationships with clients.
• Sound knowledge and confidence in presenting model outputs, model limitations, and assumptions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Circa 7-10 years of professional work experience in Re/Insurance industry.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to apply advanced mathematical / actuarial concepts and techniques to a dynamic environment.
