We’re looking for a Trainee Claims Broker to join our team, supporting the delivery of an efficient and client‑focused claims service within an insurance brokerage. Acting as a key link between clients and insurers, you’ll play a hands‑on role in managing claims from first notification through to settlement, while building your technical knowledge of claims handling and policy coverage.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Take initial details from clients at First Notification of Loss (FNOL)
- Accurately log and submit claims to insurers in a timely manner
- Act as a key point of contact between clients, insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors, and third parties
- Provide regular, clear updates to clients and help manage expectations throughout the process
- Assist in reviewing policy coverage and explaining this to clients
- Support negotiations and settlement discussions where appropriate
- Proactively chase insurers and stakeholders to progress claims
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date claims records and documentation
- Identify and escalate complex or sensitive issues when needed
- Ensure all activity aligns with FCA requirements and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles
About you:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A customer‑focused approach with a willingness to support and add value
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage priorities
- A proactive, problem‑solving mindset
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- An interest in insurance and the broking environment
- Previous customer service experience (desirable)
- Basic understanding of insurance products (desirable)
- Good general education, including Maths and English
- Eligible to work in the UK
