Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Ipswich.
This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cutting-edge IT infrastructure solutions that ensure reliability, scalability, and security. Youâll work across a diverse range of technologies, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud platforms, while driving system availability and disaster recovery strategies.

How you\âll make an impact
Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
- Develop scalable and secure IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, networks, and cloud environments.
- Align infrastructure designs with application architecture and business objectives.
- Implement load-balanced solutions for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance system performance and reliability.
System Administration & Maintenance:
- Manage physical and virtual servers, Active Directory, DNS, and Microsoft application services.
- Administer telephony systems and contact center solutions.
- Monitor systems to optimise uptime and performance, ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
Disaster Recovery & Support:
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans to meet business and client requirements.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, collaborating with IT support teams to resolve problems efficiently.
Documentation & Process Improvement:
- Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure designs, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Identify areas for improvement in processes and recommend future standards.
About You
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, Azure Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
- Proven expertise in server/network administration, virtualisation, and cloud technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft server operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, IIS, SQL, and Exchange Online.
- Strong understanding of networking topology, firewalls, routers, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and scripting tools (PowerShell, Python).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to mentor and foster technical expertise across teams.
