The Assistant Vice President, Transaction Operations will report directly to the Vice President, Transaction Operations within Artex Capital Solutions and will have responsibility for all day-to-day operational aspects of a large, sophisticated reinsurance portfolio comprising Insurance Linked Securities companies and segregated account transactions. The role encompasses all aspects of reinsurance contract administration, management of collateral, investor and management reporting and project management.
How you'll make an impact:
- Contribute to a team of Transaction Operations professionals providing the operational support for a large, sophisticated reinsurance portfolio of Insurance Linked Securities companies and segregated account transactions, including the supervision, oversight and training of direct reports.
- Contribute to the establishment, maintenance and enhancement of investor, reinsurance trustee and broker relationships.
- Contribute to the provision of and strive to constantly improve the structure and quality of reporting to investors and Artex leadership by providing accurate and timely information, leveraging Artex and third-party systems.
- Ensure prompt drafting, review, execution and recording in Artex systems of reinsurance, trust and shareholder agreements, including all aspects of reinsurance agreement execution, endorsement, commutation and novation.
- Liaise with appropriate internal and external stakeholders such as Artex Financial Reporting, Business Development and Compliance teams, brokers and investors to ensure smooth deal flow.
- Document, maintain and support the ongoing refreshment of Underwriting Guidelines, Processes and Procedures.
- Review reinsurance trust agreement language, including Reg 114 Trusts, coordinating with brokers and reinsureds as required and oversee trust opening, collateral investment, maintenance, ongoing reporting and account closing processes.
- Ensure trust account withdrawal notices are executed promptly and payments made in a smooth, timely manner to investors and/or beneficiaries.
- Participate in Business Transformation projects as directed by the EVP, Director, Insurance Management Services.
- Strive for the highest quality of client service; promptly identifying, escalating and resolving any issues, as required.
About you:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Re/Insurance industry, preferably in the areas of operations, capital management, underwriting, broking, collateral management/treasury, or technical accounting.
- University degree and/or Reinsurance designation preferred (CPCU, ARe, ACII or other equivalent professional designations preferred).
- A professional STEP qualification (TEP designation) would also be considered.
- Experience in reinsurance/property catastrophe broking beneficial.
- Excellent, professional written and verbal communications skills in client service environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and complete work to meet tight deadlines.
- Enthusiastic and strongly motivated self‑starter.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with colleagues within and across departments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with working knowledge of reporting tools such as Power BI or Business Objects is beneficial.
- Prior experience with underwriting or policy management systems would be beneficial.
