Overview

To act as a Business Partner in the best interests of the company. Ensure professional, strategic, and operational compliance risk management is in place. Support the business in meeting regulatory objectives through policy and advisory support, especially regarding FCA’s Product Governance and Consumer Duty rules and guidance. Lead compliance projects, monitor regulatory changes, perform impact analyses, and embed professional standards.

How you\’ll make an impact

  1. Balance business opportunities and commercial considerations with compliance risks to maximize performance and minimize losses.
  2. Act as a trusted advisor to the business, providing compliant solutions and constructive challenge.
  3. Collaborate with the relevant division and compliance team to support, advise, and guide on compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  4. Provide compliance oversight and reporting to senior management and contribute to governance committees.
  5. Offer specialist compliance advice tailored to business and consumer needs, bringing challenge and support to senior management.
  6. Provide specific guidance related to FCA rules on Product Governance and Consumer Duty.
  7. Support compliance work streams, including strategic projects and control framework enhancements.
  8. Develop and implement professional standards in response to regulatory changes.
  9. Assist with compliance aspects of business projects and M&A activities.
  10. Research and advise on regulatory issues, focusing on FCA rules.
  11. Help internal stakeholders understand conduct risk outcomes and adapt to regulatory changes.
  12. Stay informed on business and regulatory initiatives to develop compliant strategies.
  13. Lead conduct training and awareness initiatives.
  14. Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders for effective risk management.
  15. Comply with professional standards related to conduct risk, complaints, and whistleblowing.

About You

  • Compliance qualifications are desirable.
  • Understanding of risk practices, regulations, and conduct risk is essential.
  • Knowledge of FCA Product Governance and Consumer Duty rules is important.
  • Proven ability to evaluate controls and compliance effectiveness.
  • Experience reporting to committees, preferably within insurance broking or underwriting sectors.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Practical problem-solving approach and ability to work under deadlines.
  • People management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and eligibility to work in the UK.
