We have an incredible opportunity for a driven and ambitious Business Development Manager to join our high-performing Sales Team at Pen Underwriting covering the South West patch. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic BDM to collaborate with like-minded individuals to achieve our revenue goals while delivering exceptional service to our clients.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Propel organic growth for your broker panel with a strategic focus on outstanding customer outcomes and target achievement.
  • Cultivate and maintain business relationships to generate new opportunities.
  • Elevate client relationship management, placing it at the core of your actions.
  • Achieve growth targets and key company KPIs.
  • Engage in an externally focused, customer-facing role, emphasizing territory presence to align on growth plans.
  • Prioritise and manage sales activities to develop and execute strategic regional plans.
  • Showcase company capabilities through impactful face-to-face and remote presentations.
  • Actively participate in securing new and existing customers.
  • Integrate new company acquisitions and strategic hires within your regional network.
  • Collaborate with multiple products and stakeholders to expedite business plan delivery.

About You:

  • Progress towards or possession of CII Qualifications is advantageous, with a solid understanding of general insurance.
  • Experience in external business development is highly desirable, though not mandatory.
  • Self-motivated with the determination to solve customer challenges.
  • Confident in presenting to large customer groups.
  • Familiarity with your local market and insurance industry network is desirable, with a proven track record of meeting targets within a regulated framework.
  • Exceptional communication and networking skills, with the ability to collaborate with underwriting teams.
  • Tactical and strategic influencing, rapport-building, and outstanding interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Adaptability, strong organisational skills, and a results-driven attitude are crucial.
