Gallagher Bassett is seeking a skilled and expert Motor Insurance Desktop Engineer to join our Ipswich waterfront office. As part of our Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in creating repair assessments, authorising repair estimates, and liaising with field engineering companies, customers, and clients on various claims. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the success of our company. There is flexibility of this position being remote in the UK.
How you'll make an impact:
- Authorise estimates and invoices over £2500 up to Client Delegated Authority Level
- Act on independent engineers' reports
- Liaise with drivers and policy holders
- Assist with business queries as needed
- Mentor engineering team members
- Coordinate with field engineering companies, customers, and clients
About you:
- Technical experience in bodywork or mechanical field, ideally with VDA / IAEA / IMI qualification
- Knowledge of estimating systems and modern vehicle repair methods
- Ability to plan and manage priorities
- Understanding of company's market position and client needs
- Awareness of new technologies and trends in the repair industry
- Expertise in motor claims handling practices
- Strong negotiation and resolution skills
