Overview

Gallagher Re is looking for a Junior Reinsurance Actuary with a first experience in Reinsurance pricing and structuring.

You’ll be based in London or São Paulo and work closely with brokers in London, Miami and South America and Analysts across the region (Americas, UK and India ) to provide strategic advisory services to a wide range of clients in all aspects of reinsurance analytics..

This is a highly commercial role with excellent career prospects. You will gain exposure to all P&C lines of business including Customized/Alternative solutions, Specialty Lines as well as Life reinsurance deals.

How you\’ll make an impact

• Reinsurance treaty pricing for property (mainly), but also casualty and specialty lines. • Reinsurance structure optimisation and profitability analysis to manage earnings volatility and solvency risk for local and regional clients.• Analytical reviews (e.g., DFA modelling, structuring and pricing) in response to request for proposals.• DFA modelling of structured / customised solutions across multiple lines of business in line with the client’s risk appetite framework.• Building bespoke models and developing new modelling approaches for un / poorly modelled perils, niche portfolios or black swan events.• Delivering compelling presentations and advice to the Reinsurance buyer and C-suite of insurance groups across Latin America and the Caribbean.• Develop innovative analytical products to expand the service offering to current clients and prospects. • Providing guidance to more junior members of the team. • Opportunity to travel in the region and present to clients in Miami, across South / Central America and in the Caribbean.

About you

• 2+ years professional work experience in Reinsurance industry (reinsurance broker, reinsurer or ceded reinsurance team at an insurer)• Professional / academic actuarial or similar qualification• Strong analytical skills, ability to apply advanced mathematical / actuarial concepts and techniques in a dynamic environment.• Strong interpersonal skills to deal with a wide variety of stakeholders.• Ability to manage competing priorities and delegate tasks as appropriate.• Strong oral and written communication skills.• Experience in training more junior people desirable • Spanish-speaking proficiency desirable
