Arthian is recruiting for a Graduate Environmental Geoscientist, preferably based in Central belt Scotland – Glasgow or Grangemouth office. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced contaminated land consultants, gaining hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting senior colleagues with project delivery, programming and budgets
- Undertaking site works on a wide variety of sites, including surveys, site walkovers, contractor supervision, and soil, groundwater, gas, vapour and air monitoring
- Logging soils to current UK standards and coordinating laboratory testing for soil and water samples
- Preparing high-quality factual reports, including Tier 1 desk studies, waste classifications and environmental risk assessments
- Providing input to interpretative reporting
- Producing risk assessments and method statements
- Working with colleagues across Arthian’s Development team and wider business to deliver integrated solutions for clients
- Travelling to project sites, which may include overnight stays, out-of-hours work and periods working away from home
- Any other appropriate tasks
Requirements:
- A degree in Environmental Geoscience, Geology or a related subject
- A full UK driving licence
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite
- Enthusiasm to learn and grow with the business
- First class communication skills – verbal and written
- Proven teamworking skills
Additional Information:
The role may require travel (including occasional overnight stays) across the UK and overseas, depending on project requirements. Legal right to live and work in the UK is required. Competitive salary and benefits package including:
