Role Overview
As Bar Manager / Drinks Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of bar operations, from stock management to team leadership. Your expertise will help drive sales, maintain high standards of service, and ensure compliance with all licensing and health & safety regulations. You will work closely with our events and venue teams to deliver memorable customer experiences while managing costs effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the bar team to deliver excellent customer service and efficient operations.
- Manage stock control and ordering, ensuring minimal wastage and cost efficiency.
- Plan and implement beverage menus that align with customer preferences and event requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing laws, health & safety standards, and internal policies.
- Monitor and analyse sales performance, preparing regular reports for senior management.
- Coordinate with event organisers and venue managers to support a wide range of functions and activities.
- Recruit, train, and develop bar staff to maintain a high level of professionalism and skill.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the bar area at all times.
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
- Promote responsible alcohol service and ensure adherence to company policies.
Qualifications And Experience
- Proven experience in bar management or drinks operations
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
- Good understanding of stock control and financial management.
- Knowledge of licensing laws and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Passion for providing outstanding customer experiences.
- Relevant qualifications in hospitality or management are advantageous.
