Artemis are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen at our Pear Tree venue in Purton. The successful candidate will take a hands‑on approach to kitchen management, demonstrating strong leadership, self‑motivation, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. A genuine passion for producing high‑quality dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients is essential.

Artemis is a company that is proud to provide the finest quality, modern British food and drink to high‑end clients across 15 beautiful privately owned estates around the UK. The Pear Tree is situated in a 400‑year‑old former vicarage in the heart of Wiltshire.

Key Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience in a similar position and used to providing for 100+ covers using fresh ingredients together with a strong background in food‑led establishments.
  • A passion for cooking.
  • A proven track record, with good references to support your CV.
  • Kitchen management and communication skills.
  • Be confident in food safety management, ordering, stock takes and planning rotas (company laptop provided).
  • Own transport is essential due to the location.

Responsibilities

  • Day‑to‑day management of the venue kitchen, from food preparation and service to ensuring high standards of cleanliness.
  • Follow the allergens policy and kitchen management package (full training given).
  • Manage the kitchen team, rota planning and holidays.
  • Daily ordering from suppliers and monthly stock takes.
  • Work within food and staffing budgets to maintain financial standards.
  • Report regularly to the Group Executive Head Chef and day‑to‑day to the General Manager; respond to emails.
  • Manage Checkit (full training given).
