We're looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and professional head waiter / maître d' to join our Front of House team. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll lead service during weddings and events, ensuring every guest receives exceptional hospitality while supporting and motivating our waiting and bar teams. Whether you prefer a permanent position (33 hours per week) or casual work, we’d love to hear from you.

About The Role

As head waiter / maître d', you will be one of the key operational leaders during our weddings. Working closely with the General Manager, Bar Manager and Kitchen team, you will ensure every event runs smoothly from guest arrival through to evening service. You will be responsible for leading by example, maintaining exceptional service standards, and ensuring every couple enjoys the perfect wedding day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading Front of House service throughout weddings and events.
  • Supervising and motivating the waiting and bar teams.
  • Briefing staff before each event.
  • Delivering professional silver and fine dining service.
  • Ensuring food is served efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Looking after the bride, groom and VIP guests.
  • Supporting the management team with the smooth running of events.
  • Ensuring health & safety and food safety standards are maintained.
  • Maintaining exceptional presentation standards throughout the venue.
  • Acting as one of the main points of contact during service.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has previous experience in restaurants, hotels or wedding venues.
  • Enjoys leading and motivating a team.
  • Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Is calm under pressure and confident making decisions.
  • Has exceptional attention to detail.
  • Takes pride in delivering outstanding hospitality.
  • Loves creating memorable guest experiences.

Essential

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Own transport due to our rural location.
  • Previous experience in hospitality.

Desirable

  • Experience in weddings or events.
  • Experience supervising or leading a hospitality team.
  • Food Hygiene qualification (training can be provided).
  • Personal Licence (not essential).
