Pelham House in Lewes is looking for a maintenance support person to join our friendly team and assist our Building Manager onsite in our town centre exclusive use Wedding & Events venue. This position is part-time, working 3 days per week between 8.00am and 3pm (flexible). Usually Sunday, Monday & Tuesdays until the end of the year.
Reporting to the Building Manager, the successful candidate will be physically fit, practical and self-motivated. Good basic DIY repair skills are required, as is the ability to carry out minor repairs and jobs competently. The ability to work effectively as part of a team and alone, and to establish a friendly and respectful rapport with the rest of the team is important.
Main duties and responsibilities:- Undertake minor repairs to fixtures and fittings, including a basic knowledge of plumbing, electrics and general maintenance.
- Subject to safety regulations, redecoration of any area of the business, agreed as reasonable on instruction from the Building Manager.
- Replace lamps and domestic fuses as required.
- Regular testing for Legionnaires, fire alarms, emergency lighting and evidence testing.
- Carry out minor repairs to venue equipment as agreed with the Building Manager.
- Repair resources in venue as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and general tidiness of all external hard areas.
- Ensure effective and healthy operation in accordance with health & safety procedures.
