HV/LV Systems Lead – Battery & Charging Systems

Reporting

Reports to: Managing Director – Energy Solutions.

Departmental Overview

Energy Solutions is a sub-systems solutions arm responsible for delivering Marine lithium-Ion battery and high-power charging systems. The team builds on technology modules from vessel programmes to advance the wider marine market.

Role Overview

Head up the Electrical Engineering Team, focusing on the development of advanced battery and charging system technologies. A senior role combining team leadership with technical delivery, guiding electrical architecture, integration, and control across products. Strong foundation across electrical, control, and systems engineering, with the ability to lead complex electrification projects from concept to delivery.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Lead and grow a multidisciplinary electrical engineering team working on high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
  • Act as technical authority on HV/LV architecture, power distribution, safety, and control integration across battery and charging platforms.
  • Oversee and guide the development of electrical schematics, harnessing, component selection, and integration.
  • Contribute to algorithm development for diagnostics, state estimation, and control strategies, collaborating with software and systems teams.
  • Apply systems engineering principles to ensure traceability, validation, and integration of electrical functions.
  • Provide technical leadership on key projects, ensuring robust design and delivery aligned with system requirements.
  • Line manage and mentor electrical engineers, supporting career development and performance reviews.
  • Interface with mechanical, software, and program management functions to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Support design reviews, safety assessments, DFMEA, and functional safety processes as required.
  • Attend team and 1-1 meetings and fulfil reporting requirements as required by Artemis Technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with Artemis Technologies policies and procedures.
  • Build good working relationships across Artemis Technologies.
  • Contribute to shaping a culture that reflects Artemis Technologies values and guiding principles and enables the company to achieve its goals.

Education

Knowledge And Specialist Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in electrification projects, preferably in automotive, industrial, or energy sectors.
  • Proven experience leading electrical engineering teams or acting as a technical lead.
  • Track record of delivering HV/LV systems from concept through production.
  • Familiarity with battery systems, power electronics, charging infrastructure, and vehicle-level electrical architecture.

Technical Skills

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Deep understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, including HV/LV distribution, EMC, grounding, and isolation techniques.
  • Systems thinking and experience applying systems engineering processes (requirements decomposition, validation).
  • Ability to support, review and approve algorithms for diagnostics, fault detection, and state estimation.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring engineers and managing team dynamics. Familiarity with tools and standards (Vector tools, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, Simulink desirable but not essential).
  • Pragmatic and delivery-focused mindset, balancing technical depth with project and team management.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional technical discussions and represent the team at senior levels internally and externally.

Communication Skills

  • Ability to capture complex requirements, strong report writing, and clear verbal and visual communication. Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
