The Senior Buyer will report directly to the Strategic Procurement Manager.
LOCATION/BASE: Unit 1 Oakbank, Channel Commercial Park, Queens Road, Titanic Quarter, Belfast, BT3 9DT
DEPARTMENTAL OVERVIEW: The Procurement team is responsible for developing the Procurement function procuring the components, equipment, and facilities to support the manufacturing, assembly, and delivery of all Artemis Technologies products, including the electric foiling drives and high-speed vessels.
THE ROLE: This is an opportunity for an exceptional Senior Buyer to join this prestigious team to take on a challenging and exciting role as ATL grows rapidly to achieve its unique, leading-edge, technology-driven vision through its world class team. As a Senior Buyer you will lead a small team of buyers and be responsible for procurement of Artemis eFoiler and Artemis Technologies vessel parts. You will have responsibility and accountability for various elements of the Procurement function which will include people and cost management within the relevant platform and category, to support the Operational team. You will support the Operational WAR process, Production Readiness Reviews and Integrated Project Team meetings to ensure the Procurement function is aligned to the business needs. The Operations department will use various processes and methods to transform raw materials, components, and parts into finished goods for customers to required standards of quality, cost, delivery, and safety. You will have strategic and tactical responsibility for procurement of goods and services (direct and indirect spend) and for operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, maximising efficiency, and driving operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Be responsible for procurement of Artemis eFoiler and Artemis Technologies vessels parts, as well as the supporting equipment and facilities.
- Strategic Sourcing and Procurement for key commodities and management of tail spend.
- Conduct supplier relationship management programs with key commodity vendors (Inc. Performance, Cost Evaluation and Quality).
- Negotiate and submit contracts for approval monitor progress, quality, and service.
- Support the procurement side of ERP improvements including recommending opportunities for both departmental and business wide efficiencies to systems, processes, and information.
- You will be responsible for team 1-2-1 meetings with buyers and administration team ensuring they are regularly held to discuss departmental KPI`s, Objectives and the people side of wellbeing, and development.
- Ensure compliance with Artemis Technologies Policies and procedures.
- Build good working relationships across Artemis Technologies.
- Contribute to shaping a culture that reflects Artemis Technologies Values and Guiding Principles and enables the company to achieve its goals.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Education/Qualifications and Experience Required: Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering/manufacturing, business, or supply chain discipline or equivalent NVQ Level 4 qualification. Proven track record in strategic procurement, delivering cost management and supplier relationship management programmes for select commodities. Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level across multiple departments. Experience at procuring complex systems-based products with multiple SKUs within a manufacturing environment.
Preferred: Member of an industry related Professional Body (CIPS/APICS). Extensive in-depth composite or mechanical engineering purchasing experience. Experience with ERP, suggesting improvements to processes etc.
